Coniferous Tree

Any gymnospermous tree or shrub bearing cones. Coniferous trees keep their needles during the winter and deer often use these trees for cover and food sources during the winter. These trees are also known as pine trees.
These are trees that bear cones. The trees never lose their leaves during the fall, and what this means is that they are an excellent source of food for many deer during the winter months. A well known example for coniferous trees is the common pine tree.
